Cate, Cat, Kitty or just Catherine Mason is a dynamic 26 year old woman, artist and mother born and raised in the pacific northwest. Cat spends most of her time with her lovely daughter, creating in the studio, or off adventuring somewhere around the world. Art and travel are her main passions in life, along with consuming absurd amounts of coffee and practicing with her dragonstaff.
An artist from birth, at a young age some of her early passions were cartoon style drawings, painting and poetry. An avid reader, books relating to these subjects were her preferred way of finding inspiration before the internet was a part of everyday life. With a background in early childhood education and a daughter to raise, art took on more abstract forms such as finger painting and crayon masterpices until the covid quarantine of 2020. While everything we knew as normal was stripped away, art was a nostalgic source of comfort for her.
It was in the depths of those dark times that Cate Creates was born. After being deemed a non essential worker and let go from her job, she was left with quite a bit of free time. In an effort to make ends meet cat started upcycling old jars into candles. Her idea took off within her circle and has grown into what it is today. More than a brand, Cate Creates is a documentation of her growth as an artist and entrepreneur. Cate continues to expand her portfolio by testing out new low waste candle styles, working art markets and collaborating with artist outside of her field.
